The problem

Areias Systems prototypes, engineers and manufactures high-tech, bespoke electrical and mechanical machinery. Proper time and cost estimation is critical to what they deliver, and their existing, expensive SQL application wasn't giving them the insight to estimate lead times and costs for custom orders. They had evaluated dozens of web-based project management and time-tracking applications; none could tie into their existing MRP application or offer the rapid, easy time entry they needed.
